A partnership is born
Craig and Colby both grew up painting during the summers with their fathers who were public school teachers. They both painted during college, and after pursing careers in their field decided independently to start their own painting companies. Both companies specialized in high quality homeowner repaints. Both companies also were doing multiplexes and commercial work on a small scale. Both companies had between 4 and 8 employees, depending on the time of year.
A key addition
In 2006, TOPCO Phillipps acquired a key employee by the name of David Haddick. David had several years of experience in the painting trade and was attracted by the prospect of being able to build a company as an owner and contribute his own pool of talents. With this addition, the company framework was complete and was able to concentrate on hiring more quality employees and contracting larger and more numerous jobs.
